Hi,

I stand slightly confused. Maybe someone else can clear the confusion that I am having.

My basic question is, how can the UCD3138 be programmed ?

Is it possible to program the UCD3138 using the XDSxxx programmers, or does it require the USB serial adapter/Flash Runner itself ?

(Saw a few places that the XDSxx supports the UCD3138 and hence the query)

UCD3138 can be programmed using a few types of the XDSxx programmers meaning through JTAG, or alternatively can be programmed via "USB Interface Adapter", meaning through SMBus. Both options or available, but we use SMBus more often.

That's great to hear. I have at hand a XDS100v2 on a Piccolo Launchpad. Can that be wired to program the UCD3138 ?

Yes , XDS100v2 is one of the PODs that support UCD3138.
