Dear Team,

I have designed Tail Lamp with TPS92610 at LED current of 125mA . I want to perform a test at 85degree C for 24 hrs at 16V input. Referring to TIDA-01521 Table 5 (3rd Column: Tj= 152degC) I fear of IC junction temperature. So, I designed this using figure 25.

But, my issue is as follows:

Shall the circuit pass BCI (Bulk Current Injection) test as external resistor is directly connected in between Input supply and LED. My prediction is LED shall glow up in BCI off mode test (as direct path to LED from input side).

Could you correct/suggest me here.

Hi Sarang,

Nomrally, the BCI test will be implemented while the device is working which means that the LED is already on.
And in order to reduce the injection current's influence on the output, you could apply bypass capacitors (10nF//2.2uF) to the SUPPLY terminal and 10nF to the OUT terminal.

Sorry for late reply.

Thank you for the support. I have placed bypass capacitors (10nF//2.2uF) to the SUPPLY terminal and 10nF to the OUT terminal.

However, we have a customer BCI test in Off Mode (Closed Loop). Acceptance criteria is No Visble Lighting when the light is switched off.

Will these capacitors at input and output be okay in Off Mode also?

Hi Sarang,

I think it will be OK in off mode.

if there is still visible light, you could try to increase the input capacitance appropriately.
