TPS61193: how to change the maximum output voltage?

Part Number: TPS61193

Hi,

I'm using TPS61193-Q1 and I define the maximum output voltage is 24V through R1 and R2. In the datasheet, it states that "Recommended maximum voltage is about 30% higher than maximum LED string voltage" in 8.3.1 chapter.

My question are:

1. How to estimate the 30% above the maximum output voltage? Can we get 50% or more higher?

2. When we apply the maximum voltage 24V, it will shut the output voltage after about 550ms. How to define the lasting time?

Thanks.

  • Hi Kevin,

    1. We recommend to set the maximum output voltage at 30% higher than the maximum LED string voltage. It should have no issue if you set 50% higher, it's just it will take more time to adjust the output voltage during the headroom adjustment.

    2. What do you mean it will shut the output voltage? Did it shut down unexpectedly? What is the LED string total forward voltage range?

  • Hi Kevin,
