Dear sir:

 TPS23880 and MSP430 IIC communication has 3 lines (SDAI, SCL, SDAO).

is the ordinary IIC not the 2 line of (SDA, SCL)?

    Hi David,

    Our PSE devices have 3 pins for I2C, but it shouldn't matter for applications. If you need isolation between MCU and PSE, you can choose bidirectional isolation with connecting SDAI and SDAO pins together. if you don't want to use bidirectional isolator, please refer BOOST-PSEMTHR-007(TPS23880EVM mother board) schematic. If you don't need isolation, you can just connect SDAI and SDAO together and connect to SDA on the MCU side. Thanks.
