LP5569: LP5569 + MSP-EXP432P401R I2C Write ERROR

Part Number: LP5569

Per the snvu564a.pdf I am evaluating the LP5569 using the provided LP5569EVM software in a Windows10 machine.  I have verified the XDS110 debug device driver is installed and enumerated:

I have also updated the firmware and confirmed that the "Hardware Connected" message appears:

however, when I attempt to write chip_en -- no matter what address or i2c speed setting I select -- the write fails with the message "I2C Write ERROR."  Additionally, if I attempt to read out the registers in the 'Register' screen, I get an 'I2C Read Error.'

How do I debug this?  Are there specific jumper configurations different from out-of-box needed to enable the LP5569? Or the MSP-EXP432P401R?
