I have the exact problem described were. Plug battery without adapter cause damage in low side mosfet and in BQ24618 component.

Hi,

Please follow the typical system schematic on the d/s or the EVM schematic with BATFET circuitry to make your own design. It is highly recommended to get familiar with the BQ24618 charger operations by testing the BQ24610 EVM first.

BATFET doesn't resolve the problem of hot plug.

Hey Ruben,

Can you share your schematic, after adding this BATFET? Do you also have a waveform of the hotplug event (before damaging the board):
V_SRN
V_SW
V_SYS
I_BAT
