TPS65218: CC pin Reverse leakage current

Part Number: TPS65218

Hi Team,

Could you let me know temperature characteristic of CC pin Reverse Leakage Current of TPS65218?

TPS65218 datasheet shows that CC pin Reverse Leakage current is 500nA (max) under full temperature range.
I think that Reverse Leakage current will increase with temperature rise.
So, I want to understand the temperature characteristic of CC pin Reverse Leakage Current of TPS65218,
To understand the reverse charging current to Lithium Coin Cell Battery CR2450B connected to CC pin of TPS65218.
Thank you.

  • Ninomiya-san,

It should not be assumed that this value, ILEAK for CC pin, is higher when temperature rises. Although most parameters are worse at higher temps, some are worse at lower temperature. This information (graph) that you are asking for is not in the datasheet, and as a result I cannot guarantee this data can be provided to you.

What I can say is that ILEAK for CC pin is specified with VCC = 1.5 V & VIN_BU = 5.5 V, which is a worse case than is possible under recommended operating conditions.

VCC = 2.2V minimum, VCC=3.0V nominal, and VIN_BU = 5V nominal. If you assume the resistance is constant across voltage, then:
    RCC,RB = (5.5V-1.5V)/500nA = 8MOhm
    ILEAK(nominal) = (5.0V-3.0V)/8MOhm = 250nA

This is half the worst case, and the resistance is probably non-linear (better with lower voltage differential) and better at room temp. I would estimate the nominal leakage current is closer to 200nA at room temp.
