SM72445: Circuit configuration

Part Number: SM72445
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28950, SM72295, SM72442

Hi

Currently my customers are developing 600W class solar converters using SM72445 and UCC28950.

The configuration is as follows.

There are many difficulties in designing circuits based on EVM.

Is the SM72445 capable of buck / Boost 600W design with 48V output?

Is there a document I can refer to if it is possible, or should I review the data sheet only?

If not, will there be alternatives available for MPPT Control?

  • Hi Kim,

Note that the SM72445 is just a controller. The power level is determined by the driver in use. The 300W module SM3320 was using the SM72295 driver which is 3A peak limited. If you can find a stronger driver, the more power level can be achieved.

There are a few app notes on designing with the SM72442, which is similar to the SM72445: www.ti.com/.../technicaldocuments

    Thanks,
