CCS/EM1402EVM: Test connection error only after programming TMS board

Hello,

I am following the TIDM-TMS570BMS example and have performed the necessary modifications and before programming the board I am able to test connection and receive this message: "The JTAG DR Integrity scan-test has succeeded." However, after programming the board I am able to open the GUI but when I retest my connection I receive this error message

Additionally under the expressions tab there are many error messages as shown below:

The main issue im having is not being able to balance, the cell voltages are able to be read however when balancing is enabled the voltages do not change. I confirmed using a logic analyzer that SPI signals are present so I suspect it is a programming error. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Reynier,

Please ensure that resistor R8 has been removed from the TMS570 board as mentioned in the "Getting Started with the bq76PL455A-Q1 Example Code" document (link: www.ti.com/.../slva635.pdf).

Can you ensure that the proper FTDI drivers are installed? (link: www.ftdichip.com/.../VCP.htm)

Am I not supposed to be using the xds100 drivers that come with CCS?

Hi Reynier,

I apologize for the delay. If the xds100 is not working for your current application, I would recommend trying the FTDI drivers. In most cases, the FTDI drivers linked will provide full support of the FTDI cable that is shipped with the bq76PL455/EM1402.
