TPS65130: Current limiting on negative rail

Part Number: TPS65130

Hi,

My customer ask for clarification on this devices behavior when hitting the negative current limit. Your expertise is needed. Thanks. /M.A.M

"Do you know the behavior of the TPS65130 if going over the current limit on the negative supply?

Our use-case is Vin = 5V, Vneg = -12V. From the datasheet it state that the current limit is between 100-150mA

We have a usecase where we see that the current draw from the -12V rail is slightly above this limit and we can see a slight sag in the voltage. We do not otherwise see any negative effect from this and this behavior is acceptable.

- However do you see any issues here? I am mainly thinking if the part for any reason could stop regulating, but I guess this will only happen if we reach the boost switch current limit (700mA)."
