TPS61197: Question about output capability

Part Number: TPS61197

We want to use the TPS61197 to drive an LCD panel backlight. The parameters are:

Input voltage: 12V

Output voltage: 37V

Output current: 550mA

The application is fairly demanding, so I need to know that operation at these levels will not cause undue stress. If the TPS61197 is not suitable, what would you suggest as a substitute?

Hi Julian,
TPS61197 can support your specs, but what's your detail application? TPS61197 is mainly used on TV and other high voltage panel.

Hi Sean,

We’re planning to use it to drive an LCD back panel in a tv monitor. The monitor contains a pair of panels, so we intend to use two devices per monitor. Is the current demand at 37V well within the TPS capability for a 12V input?
