Hello all,
I would like a suggestion about charging a lead acid 12V 12 Ah battery from a controlled Supercapacitor voltage source: the maximum input voltage ( that is the voltage across the series of 4 supercaps(2.1Volts max) is 8.4 V .
I wondered if I could use a TI component to achieve the float charge of the battery.
The capacitors are assumed to discharge during the charging of the battery, the system has got a microcontroller inside of it that monitors the voltage across supercaps, and may monitor the voltage across the battery.
I thought about a controlled 5/15 DC/DC elevator, in order to get constant 15V to the output side (the DC DC may work from 8.4 Volts to 4.5 Volts), and then an integrated circuit to control the charge.
What solution do you suggest?
Does exists a single component that can do the charge from a variable dc source?
Thank you in advance,
best.
