BQ24780S: the fig. about efficiency during charging

As far as I know. the higher the output voltage of the switching, the higher the efficiency.  

But as shown in the figure, the highest efficiency in the datasheet is 11.1 V.

And why is that?

    While that would be true in an ideal sense, there are other factors that could be at play here:

    First two that come to mind are the following:
    1) Input sense resistor (RAC) IR losses.
    2) Input back-to-back reverse current protection FETs -- IR losses.

    Both of these losses will actually increase with increasing output voltage as the average input current will increase for a similar output current across battery voltage.
