TPS3851: Can TPS3851 used as timer?

Part Number: TPS3851
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3431, TPS3430

Hi,

do we have product can meet below request?

when the time less than 30s, the output is follow with input signal. and when the time higher than 30s, the output is low.

I promote the TPS3851, can it use in this applicaiton? or do you have any good recommendation?

thank you.

  • Betty,

Yes I believe the watchdog supervisor you chose will workl but if there is no voltage monitoring required, please use TPS3430 or TPS3431.

TPS3430 allows you to program how long the output remains low for and TPS3431 has a fixed 200 ms.

When using these devices, you can set the watchdog timeout to 30s via external capacitor on CWD. This means a pulse must arrive on WDI before the watchdog timeout otherwise the /WDO will transition to logic low. Depending on if using TPS3430 or TPS3431, the output will remain low for a programmable watchdog fault delay or a fixed delay.

Please let me know if you need any additional support to help get the application working. Thanks!
