LM5085: RT pin state during thermal shutdown

Hi everyone

I would like to know if during thermal shutdown the LM5085 controller holds the RT pin to GND, in order to use it as a sort of feedback in my application.

Andrea,

The datasheet does not spec the operation of RT during thermal shutdown but section 7.3.10 of the datasheet states that the soft start capacitor discharges during thermal shutdown. This can be your indicator.

the question is that from the functional block diagaram of the datasheet I can not understand if the soft-start capacitor can be seen from RT extrenal pin.

you think I can see a low transition on RT pin during thermal shutdown?

Andrea,

My mistake! I failed to see there is no external SS pin. I see the issue now.

VCC will also go low in a thermal shutdown event. Can that be used as your indicator?
