TPS92518EVM-878: Channel #2 gate drive not switching

Part Number: TPS92518EVM-878

Information:
1. Worked initially
2. No fault on GUI
3. VCC2 = 7.45V with drive enabled/disabled
4. May have accidentally connected external PWM(3V) signal to SW2(TP5)

Any suggestions of other things to check or try?

Hello Craig,

If you have more than one board you can verify if one board channel 2 works and the other does not. If SW2 contacted PWM when powered up it is likely damaged, abs max for PWM is 8.8V. You may be able to measure the pin resistance to ground and compare to another or to channel one, it may not measure different but if it does it may indicated that it is damaged due to excess voltage.

HI Irwin,
Does TI offer a re-work service?
I have spare ICs but this layout would be challenging for our Tek to unsolder the IC without using a special hot-air nozzle for that package.
If so, what is the process of sending the board back for remove and replace of the IC?
