TPS61089: Vo 4.5V limit reason

I have a question about the TPS61089.

The datasheet lists an output voltage range of 4.5V to 12.6V, but there is no reason given for the 4.5V spec. The FB voltage is 1.212V.

I am considering this IC to drive a laser diode and the laser diode has a voltage drop of around 4 to 4.5V.

Dear Sir,

For the TPS61089, the output voltage should be >=4.5V to let it work normally. What is your Vin range, output current in your application?

Running from a single Li-Po battery, so 3.5V to 4.2V. Output current is 1.8A. Would you suggest another device? Thx
