Hi,

I am working on a hardware (which acts as host) where it has USB 2.0 ports and connects to tablet over USB 2.0 (tablet acts as device).

I am able to communicate with tablet (using RNDIS) and need to supply the power it as well. Need of the power supply is 3A at 5V which I would not be able to do from my hardware.

I have a separate power source which can give me 5V - 3A and wnated to know if there is any way I can combine with USB (as there is only USB micro getting connected to tablet) using some thing like Y connector. Or do you have any suggestion using any hub which can do this?

Are you using a specific IC from TI and seeing issues? I'm not sure that I fully understand your question. Can you please clarify?

Hi Eric,

No - I am asking for suggestion :) Basically I need a hub which can also charge the device - basically USB hub with DCP which can charge at 3A.

Hi Phani,

Are you looking to use USB Type-C ports on your design that support Power Delivery? Or do you just want to have USB Type-A ports that support BC1.2?

Hi Eric,

Currently I am looking for normal USB Type A ports with BC1.2. My basic requirement is to charge the tablet with 3A (max).

Hi, Phani,

We have BC1.2 charging controller family: TPS254900, TPS2549, TPS2546. Please refer to detailed information in datasheet.
We also have Buck & BC1.2 & Type-C integrated part: TPS25830. You can find information on Ti.com.
