UCC28180: ucc28180 mosfet blows at power on

Dear Sir,

i have been working on PFC ic ucc28180d. my spec is 1000 watts, 390v dc, 100khz switching frequency . now i have a problem that the mosfet blows only at power on . during operation it works fine . if i switch on and off few times the mosfet blows . i have tried giving from 3 sec up to 10 minutes between power on. it happens randomly in all cases . can i have some solution on this . now i have a been struck in time constrained project . can i use ucc28019a to solve the issue?

Ucc28180 will never work, use UCC28019A it will work without issues.

Do you have the protection diode between the CS and GND pins of the UCC28180 this is necessary to prevent the IC being damaged by the voltage developed across the current sensing resistor by the inrush current.

If not, then please post your schematic and key component waveforms during turn-on -
Vds of the MOSFET
Vgs of the MOSFET
Voltage across the current sensing resistor - or the current in the inductor
