WEBENCH® Tools/TPS61181: TPS61181ARTER

Part Number: TPS61181
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61165

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello,

We are using TPS61181ARTER in our design .

The LCD we are using has Common Anode and Common Cathode Configuration. It requires 120mA,19.2V  so we have shorted all strings (6*20mA(each string)) to get 120mA.

Since we are shorting the strings  can LED will glow with the same brightness? will it be reliable ?

Is it right to do?

Please suggest us

Thanks,

Sakthi

  • Hi Sakthivel,
For your application, you'r better to use each channel to drive each led string. In this way you can get the better led current match performance. But you only have the common Anode and common Cathode, it's ok to bright the led strings, but the performance is not good as the separate configuration. can you tell me your detail application? If you only have this led string, you can check the TPS61165, this is one channel led driver which may be better and cheap.
    Best Regards
    Sean
