UCC28950: The total resistance

Part Number: UCC28950

Hi Team,

Data sheet 19p Section 7.3.6

"The total resistance of this resistor divider should be in the range between 10 kΩ and 20 kΩ" is stated.

What will happen if you do not keep this?

Please tell me any number of possible phenomena.

Best Regards,

Kenji

  • Hello Ohno-san

I would expect a gradual degradation of the adaptive delay function as the resistance in the potential divider increases above 20k. I would expect it to become sensitive to noise and this would cause random changes in the delay times being programmed.
If the resistance is reduced below 10k I would expect that the CS signal itself would be loaded by the potential divider. In the limit, the CS signal would be short circuited to ground.

The suggested resistance range for the potential divider should be enough for any application and there should be no reason to go beyond these limits.
