TPS23880: TPS23880 auto-mode

Part Number: TPS23880

Hi,

For the simple application like PSE injector, customer intend to use TPS23880 only without MCU.

1. But for TPS23880, it still need MCU for initial config, am I right?

2. How about suggest customer reserve pin 52 for TI's auto-mode version and just waiting for product release?

3. Is there anyway to do PSE injector in auto-mode without MCU?

 Thanks,

C.T.

  • Hi C.T,

Yes, you are right. TPS23880 needs to work with a host(MCU, CPU or other controllers has I2C port) to load SRAM code and do initial configurations. For the PSE injector, will all ports be configured in the same way? Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Penny
  • Hi Penny,

Yes, all ports be configured in the same way.

    1. If customer use MCU on this program for development, and remove MCU after TPS23880 hardware auto-mode released.

    Is this way works?

    2. Can we use EEPROM to work with TPS23880?

    3. If question 2 answer is no, then why?

    Thank you,

    C.T.

  • Hi C.T,

    Please see my answer below.

    1. If customer use MCU on this program for development, and remove MCU after TPS23880 hardware auto-mode released.

    Is this way works?

[Answer]It should work and please make sure customer understand that now we don't have a solid date when the autonomous mode will be released.

    2. Can we use EEPROM to work with TPS23880?

    [Answer]No

    3. If question 2 answer is no, then why?

[Answer]The TPS23880 is designed to use SRAM to store the code and you have to use some kind of host device to load the SRAM code through I2C bus.

    Thanks.
