Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22917
Hello
Do you have any way to implement Power multiplexing (MUXing) between three power supplies(same 5V voltage) ?
Example added another Power Supply 3(5V) to Figure64 SCH

Hi Fandy,
Thanks for reaching out on E2E!
Can you tell me a little more about your application? The TPS22953 can be used in specific 3-way MUXing configurations, but I'm not sure if this applies for your system.
From my understanding, you want to MUX between three 5V supplies (PS1, PS2, and PS3). If PS1 goes down, the MUX should automatically switchover to PS2. If PS2 goes down, then it should automatically switchover to PS3. Is my understanding correct? Or, are you manually switching between 3 different supplies? If PS1 comes back while PS2 is powering the system, should the MUX automatically switch back to PS1?
Thanks,
Arthur Huang
Hi Arthur
Input power supplies is manually connecting between 3 power supplies(PS1,PS2,PS3) , PS1=DCIN_5V, PS2=POE_5V, PS3=POGO_5V ; Priority: PS1>PS2>PS3 ;
Actually PS3 was always connected, if manually connecting other PS1 or PS2 , PS3 should be shutdown automatically, and selecting higher priority power supply; if PS1 connected, PS2,PS3 should be shutdown automatically
Hi Fandy,
Thanks for the clarification. With that configuration, you could try using 2 TPS22953 (PS1 and PS2) and one TPS22917 (PS3). With an external NOR gate attached to the enable of PS3, it would only be enabled when both of the PG pins of the two TPS22953 are low.
Thanks,
