Hi,
Does TPS2375 have over voltage protection?
If no, when VDD goes to above 57V, what is the operation of TPS2375?
Is it turned off?
If yes, can I call it over voltage protection?
Thanks.
Hi David,
TPS2375 does not have overvoltage protection & will not turn off above 57V.
57V is the maximum input voltage for PoE as defined by the IEEE802.3 standard. We provide system level overvoltage protection through the use of a TVS diode across VDD-VSS in order to compliant with the standard.
The part will not damage if you stay within the 100V abs max, however we cannot guarantee expected performance above the recommended operational max of 57V.
