BQ25101: CHG Pin cycle

Hello,

We are using the device in a portable device. I must know if the CHG pin rises high every time the power ( on IN pin) is connected and this independently of the charge of the battery .

Please confirm it

Yes -- power on is a reset of the device and CHG will go high-z before the charge cycle starts.

thanks for your reply.

One other question on the same subject :

In case the power is on and the device is left on the charger for a long time, the battery is slowly draining out and the BQ25101 shall detect the falling down voltage of the battery and start automatically the charging process again. Is this how the BQ25101 reacts? please confirm this behavior.

Hello

This would be a Recharge condition and the BQ25101 will restart charge after voltage drops about 100mV. See data sheet page 6 Recharge or Refresh Section, V-RCH also page 20 Section 8.4.7
