BQ34110: Can this IC be used for monitoring batteries in Electric Vehicles and Hybrid Vehicles ?

Since it is mentioned in the Datasheet that it is used only for Rarely discharged applications I am posting this question.

    hi Jagannathan,

    Rarely discharged applications would be batteries that are always charged (aka system is always plugged) but that you need to monitor to make sure you can use them when you're losing power. We're talking about battery back up units (BBU), UPS, Energy Storage Systems (ESS).

    You do use your battery quite a lot in an EV...

    You'll find here our monitors for automotive applications (w/ automotive qualification).
