Current Amplifier Circuit for a Signal Generator

Hi,

I am new to electronics circuit design. I have a signal generator (Model: Agilent 33120A) from which I would like to amplify the output current. There will be a pulse waveform at the output with a fast rise time and fall time (could be as fast as 20us) and the pulse length will be rather short. It could be some microseconds (maybe 50us). Total period could be something like 180us.

Now, I need to build a current amplifier suitable for this task and the calculation behind it. Very apprieciated for some feedbacks and guidance and some info about suitable operational amplifiers can be used for this task as well.

  • Hi TK,

Could you give a little insight into what your end goal is? Does the signal generator not provide enough current to drive your design and you need more? Please specify some technical criteria (how much output current, etc.) as that will help us provide some recommendations.

    Best,

    Paul
