BQ27441-G1: Design Capacity wrong value

Part Number: BQ27441-G1

Hello

I'm configuring the BQ27441-G1A on my custom board, following the "4. Programming the configuration" chapter of this document. My battery has a nominal battery capacity of 1350 mAh, so I set the Design Capacity parameter with this value.

The problem is that after some minutes, I read it back via the Full Available Capacity parameter (the same as Nominal Available Capacity) and it is 1256 mAh... So I changed the battery with a 950 mAh one. After setting Design Capacity to this value, I read it back and I get 883 mAh.

In both cases I've a scale value of 1.07! Is it normal? I don't know if there is anything else that I should enable/disable... Or maybe I should set Design Capacity to a value 1.07 time greater...

Thank you

  • NAC depends on calculations that also take into account the temperature compensation. If you replace batteries, please make sure to run a learning cycle. There is no ratio of DC vs NAC.
