Alternative to RTVR-78Mv3

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR33620

Hello team,

in one of my customers I found the following device: RTVR-78Mv3, and the DS is the following

There is a supply voltage already filtered at + 24V, coming from a LED driver, which could reach up to + 30V max, as output current would need a 500mA. We have really tight economic target; I was looking at step down, not isolated, with short-circuit protections, which do not require too many external components.

Could you please help me out? Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Adrian

  • Adrian,

Check out LMR33620. This is a very small and inexpensive buck converter. It can handle up to 36VIN and 2AOUT (good margin for your design) and can operate at 2.1MHz meaning smaller L, CIN, and COUT. It has cycle-by-cycle current limit and hiccup for short-circuit conditions. The part has been optimized for reduced solution size.
