TINA/Spice/LM5035: Error reporting of LM5035 half-bridge simulation model based on simplis software

Part Number: LM5035
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Good seniors.
Today, I used simplis to build a half-bridge power supply simulation model based on the LM5035 controller, but I was given an error.
*** ERROR *** Cannot find DC operating point - No convergence in pseudo transient analysis.
Do you know why?

I downloaded the simulation model they made from the official website, as shown in the figure above.

However, this model can only be opened in OrCAD Capture CIS software. Since I have a trial version and there are component limits, I can only see the simulation circuit model, but I can't simulate it.

I rely on the gourd painting, and I have this half-bridge model in simplis. as follows:

I suspect that there may be a problem with the imported model of the LM5035, because I have block simulations of other circuit diagrams, although the circuit does not work properly, but no error is reported.

Simulation model that can be downloaded from the official website:

Here is the simulation model I built in simplis:

  • Hi,

Have you imported the LM5035 model into Simplis?

If the LM5035 model is successfully imported I suggest you try and get it running in a simple circuit first and then add additional parts of the power stage and build up the circuit model piece by piece.

    Regards

    Peter
  • Thank you for your advice, I will give it a try.
  • LM5035 basic circuit.zip

According to your instructions, I put a simple LM5035 circuit in simetrix, but still reported the same error.

Is the model of LM5035 no longer working in simetrix software, can only work in the candence software?

I have attached a simple files with the LM5035 setup just to power up, apply Vin, Vcc comes up into regulation as does Vref.

You can try and build up your schematic from this and keep checking for issues by simulating as you additional additional elements.

    Peter

  • Hi,thank you for your help.

I ran your simulation model in simetrix, but an error occurred:
    "*** ERROR *** Singular matrix
This may be due to a floating node or a loop of voltage sources and/or inductors.
In particular, check node/pin U1_HO. Check also that there is a ground node.
    Try setting ".options noopiter"”

Two days ago, I downloaded cadence and found that the LM5035 model provided by your official website can be run in cadence. I think I will simulate the LM5035 model under cadence. I suspect that the model of the LM5035 may not be compatible with simetrix.
