BQ27411EVM-G1A: Bq27411 G1A-GPCHEM ID

Part Number: BQ27411EVM-G1A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM, BQSTUDIO, BQ27742-G1

Hi,

I am trying to get CHEM ID,

I have uploaded the .zip file contains config.txt and roomtemp_rel_dis_rel.csv files.

I am getting error in GPC report  Error: Wrong data format  make sure file has coma or tab separated values. Name: roomtemp_rel_dis_rel.csv

There is no current coloumn in my log file....

Please find enclosed .zip file and help me.  I have attached my log file also here separatelynew.10.log.bq27411-Analogics.zip

  • please follow the gpcchem instructions on the website. the pdf here, www.ti.com/.../slva725 explains the format
  • Hello Batt,

    We have already followed the document which you have shared. But we are getting error as below when upload the .zip file.

    The following errors were reported by the calculation engine:
    Error: Wrong data format make sure file has coma or tab separated values. Name: roomtemp_rel_dis_rel.csv

    Please suggest further..... please find my .zip file0211.bq27411-Analogics.zip

  • Make sure that the data is separated by commas and only contains the V I T and time columns. You've all other data that's not required. Please follow the GPCCHEM instructions on the page.
  • Hi
    I am getting this error when i upload .zip file.

    The following errors were reported by the calculation engine:
    Error: Discharge current should be negative. No negative current detected in file min current = 3.558

    Could you help..
  • The instructions are very clear here,
    www.ti.com/.../slva725a.pdf

    The GPC tool requires a single .zip file containing one configuration file, and one data file, as input.
    The name of the .zip file is not important. The .zip file must contain these files:
    • config.txt
    • roomtemp_rel_dis_rel.csv

    Configuration File (1 Each)
    The configuration file is a text file named config.txt and is an ASCII text dictionary that contains this
    information:
    • ProcessingType = 2 Determines the type of tool used. Value must be 2 for chemistry ID selection tool
    • NumCellSeries = Number series cells
    • VoltageColumn = Zero-based column number for the voltage data in your data logs
    • CurrentColumn = Zero-based column number for the existing data in your data logs
    • TemperatureColumn = Zero-based column number for the temperature data in your data logs
    • ElapsedTimeColumn = Zero-based column number for the elapsed time data in your data logs
    Typical settings are:
    ProcessingType = 2
    NumCellSeries = 1
    ElapsedTimeColumn=0
    VoltageColumn = 1
    CurrentColumn = 2
    TemperatureColumn = 3

    Data Log File
    Data logging stores data in a file that contains these columns in a comma-separated (CSV), tabseparated,
    or space-separated format:
    • Time (in seconds elapsed)
    • Voltage (in millivolts)
    • Current (in milliamps where discharge current is negative)
    • Cell temperature (measured by a thermistor attached to the surface of the cell, in degrees Celsius).
    One decimal place is acceptable.
    If the initial data format is not one of the supported formats (for example Microsoft®Excel®), save the data
    file as a .csv file. Text that is not included in the data columns (such as the log file header generated by
    bqStudio or EV Software) and empty lines should be removed from the file prior to submission. One row of
    column names can remain, (the tool will skip it), as long as it has just one name per column.
    An easy recording method utilizes TI's bqStudio software utility called GPC Packager that reads data
    directly from a TI fuel-gauge.
    The columns can be in any order since the column positions are defined in the config.txt file. The log file
    can have some other data columns that are not used in this tool (removing them is not required) if the size
    of the .zip file prepared for submission does not exceed 2 MB. Note that since the file is compressed, the
    user can decrease the size by utilizing different compression settings in the archiver program.
    The sampling interval is from 5 to 100 s.
    The initial charging portion is not required. The charging must be performed shortly before the relaxation
    period. Relaxation data is required before and after the discharge.
    The precision of the measurements is important. In particular, current measurement must be better than
    0.1% of range accuracy, and 1 mV voltage measurement at room temperature. 16-bit ADC is
    recommended.
    Rename the data log as: roomtemp_rel_dis_rel.csv prior to submission of the file regardless of actual
    text format.

    In your dsg log make sure that you remvoe all the other columns that are not in this list. Your dsg current should be negative. Start with at least one to 10 rows of zero current.

    It should look something like this,

    ElapsedTime Temperature Voltage AvgCurrent
    4 23.65 4087 -1300
    8 23.65 4087 -1300
    12 23.75 4086 -1300
    16 23.85 4085 -1300
    20 23.85 4084 -1299
    24 23.95 4083 -1299
    28 23.95 4083 -1299
    32 24.05 4081 -1299
    36 24.05 4081 -1298
    40 24.05 4080 -1298
    44 24.05 4080 -1298
    48 24.05 4080 -1298
    52 24.15 4078 -1298
    56 24.15 4078 -1298
    60 24.25 4077 -1297
    64 24.25 4077 -1297

    Not what you have in there.
  • bq27441-AD-report.zipHi All,

     As per earlier suggestions from your team,

    Please support us immediately to move forward....

    We have initially selected BQ27441, (System side Gauge) this is RAM based Fuel Gauge, When power is lost it load with it's default values.

    In our Case, We are using  Removable battery of rating 3.7V/5200mAh   (2-cells are connected in series(2600mAh)) .

    Due to this we have selected BQ27411-G1A as ROM based fuel gauge ( pack side). We have successfully integrated android driver. We have spent lot of time for this development. We stuck with SOC is not proper. Even we have cross verified the same with EV2300 connected to PC in Battery Management studio.  We have posted the same in e2e.

    As per your team suggestions,

    We  are successfully generated CHEMID for the BQ27411-G1A is 1280.  But we are unable to update the CHEMID to BQ27411.  Your team is saying that we can't update the CHEMID in BQ27411 ROM based Fuel gauge.

    Please find the enclosed report from TI.  Help us to move forward...

    How to fix this SOC with bq27411-G1A. or please suggest any alternate part  as per our requirements quickly.

    We are looking forward for your valuable replay.

  • Hi All,

    Please tell me that, Can we update the CHEMID of BQ27411-G1A through driver(android driver) at every power up.
    If possible, please tell me how to write CHEMID of 1280 to 0008 register.
  • Hi,

    Sorry, There is a typo error,
    In our Case, We are using Removable battery of rating 3.7V/5200mAh (2-cells are connected in parallel(2600mAh)) .
  • No, this is a ROM gauge and you can't update the chem ID on this. If the chem ID of your battery doesn't match this you will have to choose a different 1s gauge.
  • Hi

    Our Battery CHEMID is 1280.. So please suggest Fuel Gauge
  • Please use the bq27742-G1.
