I'm trying to use this converter to change a DC supply of 12V to power a load that needs 5V / 2A. I have followed the schematic recommendation in the datasheet, and my circuit works briefly before running into heat issues on this part. Upon reading further I found the layout recommendations in the datasheet (which I was not previously following), and then a post in this forum which mentions that a 4 layer board is required. Is a minimum 4 layer board still required? Is there any way for the converter to work with any layout on a 2 layer board? If so, what might that layout look like?
