ULN2003A: Maximum Ice vs Duty cycle

Part Number: ULN2003A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPL7407LA

Hi team,

According to the datasheet as below, i have three question about this:

1. Is the maximum Ice current for each channel or the total current for 7 channel?

2. if I am about to use 4 channel, and set two of them with 80% duty cycle, and the other two with 30% duty cycle. What's the maximum current for this kind for application?

3. What's the Vs voltage and other test condition for the below picture?

Could you please share some advice for this?

Thanks.

  • Hi James,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E!

You are correct, Figure 5 refers to the maximum collector current, depending on the number of channels. The maximum collector current will be depending on the self-heating of the device and the maximum junction temperature, so I can't give you a value since it depends on the system conditions. You can read more on the thermal dissipation of the ULN2003A and the TPL7407LA here

The app note also gives you instructions on how to calculate the thermal dissipation in the device.

    Thanks,

    Arthur Huan
