Part Number: TPS2836
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2834

Hi TI EE:

I want to design a Sync buck power .I my case,Vin:24V,Vout:12V~24V.fsw:300KHz.

I have trouble to choose the driver IC,please help to make sure which one is better between TPS2836 and TPS2834.

                Thank you!

  • Hi Cheney SUn,

Thanks for your interest in our parts. My name is Mamadou Diallo, and I will help address your concern.

These devices have can both do the job. The difference lies in the fact that TPS2834 has additional features such as ENABLE, SYNC, and CROWBAR. ENABLE gives you more control of the driver by turning on/off both high-side and low-side drivers. SYNC allows this driver to be configured as a non-synchronous-buck driver (disabling the low-side driver) by simply setting SYNC low. The CROWBAR feature turns on the low-side power FET (overriding the IN signal) in the event of overvoltage or overshoot on the high-side power FETs. this device device comes in SOIC-14 package whereas TPS2836 comes in SOIC-8.

Please confirm if this helped address your inquiry by pressing the green button or let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks.
