TPS92075: How can I increase the PF value and stabilize it ?

Part Number: TPS92075

My circuit requires a power factor (PF) greater than 0.9, so I chose to use the TPS92075.Its architecture is a buck converter.

After referring to the circuit design example, the PF value of my circuit would vary between 0.8 and 0.9. How can I increase the PF value and stabilize it?

The specifications are as following :

Vin=110V AC
Vo=55V DC
Iout=18mA
for LED lighting

  • Hello,

    Is your output really 55V at 18 mA? That is 1W. If this is the case I would assume you are not triac dimming. The input capacitance of 0.222 uF would be enough to create a phase issue. I would look at the input voltage and current to see what is causing the Power Factor to be low.

    Best Regards,
