HI

I'd like to ask you the below.

*Development product specifications

   -  48V/12V 3.5kW DCDC Converter

         48V → 12V Buck Mode : 3.5kW

         12V → 48V Boost Mode : 1.0kW

  - 6 Phase (LM5170-Q1 3ea)

*Questions

1. If I use the Analog Outer Voltage Loop Control, can I apply only one external error Amp to the 6-Phase?

2.Is the Power MOSFET Failure Detection operating only in the initial start-up state or can the MOSFET Short be detected during normal operation?

3.In the figure below, what should be considered in order to determine the TVS Diode capacity used in front of the circuit breaker?
- Apply 3600W TVS Diode in EVM Circuit Diagrams

    Hi David,
    1. yes. the output of the EA is the control signal for ISETA of the 3 devices.
    2. the failure detection is only used in initial start-up.
    3. i think it depends on the current through this TVS, also on the lasting time the current after the breaker circuit is turned off. you may check with the TVS vendor after having the current and lasting time.
