TPS659037: I2C interface connection for DVS

Part Number: TPS659037

Hi, In AM572x GP EVM design, the TPS6590376 I2C2 interface is pulled up with 2.2K resistor, but not connected to I2C1 bus, does this mean the processor cannot access the DVS dedicated register, so the DVS is not realized in this design? If this is true, then to realize the DVS, should I unsolder R18, R19, then connect the PMIC_SDO, PMIC_SCE to I2C1_SDA and I2C1_SCL?

  • Hi YF,

DVS can be done through I2C1, which is how it is done on the AM572x GP EVM. I2C1 can control all registers, while I2C2 can only communicate with the subset of all registers which are used in DVS. For this case, only I2C1 is used, no need for I2C2.
