BQ24725: if the control CPU is power down, can BQ24725 charge to BATTERY lonely?

Hi,
BQ24725 is smart charger, so it is necessary to use CPU controlled. Otherwise you can't charge your battery.
If you don't have CPU then you should need standalone charger. Maybe you can consider BQ 2461x.

if i shut down the CPU when charging, does it mean the charger stops charging? and cannot work in default mode?

If you need BQ24725A is still charging battery after CPU is shut down, you must disable BQ24725A WatchDog timer. Otherwise the
Adjust charge will be suspended if IC does not receive write charge voltage or write charge current command within the watchdog time period and watchdog timer is enabled.

would you please explain the difference between standalone and BQ24725? is stand-alone charger no need to control or has more feature to control the battery?

Simply speaking, standalone charger didn't have SMBUS or I2C interface. But BQ24725 has SMBUS interface.

For standalone charger, there are some hardware pins to program charger operation, ex: charger voltage and charge current setting value...etc

But BQ24725 need MCU to program these parameters otherwise charger won't charge battery automatically.

Based on our test, the charger chip BQ24725 can connect with battery with I2C interface and charge battery automatically without CPU control . As your comment , the chip can't work without external CPU control. could you please help to explain it?

if the smart battery broadcasts ChargeCurrent and ChargeVoltage to charger, and the default value of InputCurrent is a valid value. The charger will enable battery charging, right?
