BQ34Z950: BQ34Z950 cannot power up

Hi TI,

Currently I'm facing a problem with my board. IC BQ34Z950 on my board is not turn on. I already check the Vcc voltage and it's available. the REG25 and REG33 have no output. The SMBD and SMBC is 3.3V and always high (seem the IC not send or received any data and BQ evaluation software also didn't detect anything from this IC ). What other points should I check in order to turn on the IC?

Make sure that your pack side is connected. You need to see a voltage at PACK to wake from shutdown.

Can I know what is the function of capacitor C19? What will happen if we not mount the capacitor if we not use pin8 (pin8 keep floating)?

I think the LEDs are charlieplexed. So, you probably do need C19 on LEDOUT.

Hi Batt,

I mean if I don't use any LEDs, is it possible if I remove C19 and let Pin8 floating? Is there any extra function of REG33/LEDOUT (pin8) other than supply for the LEDs?
