LM5170-Q1: five channel output LM5170 design

Part Number: LM5170-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5170

Dear all,

i want to know how to design OPT circuit? there is 3.3KW 48V systom project, i don't find any design reference in datesheet.

2,how the IC  to control the SYNCIN pin and  SYNCOUT pin , to aviod the DCM mode ?

thanks a lot.

  • Hi ZYT,

Thank you for reaching out with your questions.

The OPT pin functionality is described in section 7.4.1.1 and table 1 of the datasheet. This will help to set the interleaving of the phases correctly.

The SYNCOUT pin can be connected to the next LM5170's SYNCIN pin. This is shown in Figure 39. Figure 38 shows the connections where an external clock is used to set the frequency and phase for each IC.

The LM5170 operates in diode emulation mode (DEM) in light load operation. There is no way to make the LM5170 operating in forced PWM mode (FPWM) at light load.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
