MSL part Baking requirement

Dear All,

Please help to identify the baking time and temperature for the below MSL 3 parts. Since the thickness of the part is more than 4.5, we don’t have clarity to proceed, expect your quick response, Thank you.

Hi Thinesh,

We follow the JEDEC standard J-STD-033 in order to determine the MSL ratings. Since JEDEC owns their standard, please register with JEDEC to view the standard J-STD-033.

In this J-STD-033, packages greater than 4.5mm appendix B is called and this is not clear.

Hi Thinesh,

I agree that the equations given in Appendix B are complicated; however, keep in mind that the thickness of the KTT package is only 0.07 mm larger than 4.5 mm. As such, the time delta is negligible between a 4.5 mm package. For the MSL 3 device a bake time of 48 hours at 125 C should be adequate.
