LM5170EVM-BIDIR: Missing Components from Board!

Dear Ti,

  I just got my 2 set of EVM cards today. I was trying to power on the card but i noticed there are many components missing from card, which i notcied from Schematic in user guide from page 19-23. They not connected for some reason can you explain why? 

For eg: I have notices you have remove resistor R43 and R44 because of which i cant produce on board 10V,5V or 3.3V unless i give external 5V on Master enable Pin! I dont want to create external power supply but want to use only on-board generated power 5V and also give it to my MCU. Similarly there are many components missing for Current Sense,etc... Can you explain what is the reason for not connecting the components? 

  I have purchased this 2 nos of this cards. Please provide me the solution or replacement for this cards which has all components installed. Deeply awaiting your reply.

    Thanks for reaching out with your questions.

    It is standard for many evaluation modules to have components that are not populated. For some application these components are not needed. For the typical application that the EVM is based on a MCU is most likely going to be present. This MCU can provide the master enable signal that is required to start-up the module. This is why the components you mention are not populated.

    If you need to change the functionality of the board R44 and R43 can be populate to allow for start-up without an external control signal.

    For Boost mode only. My client has requested he needs I/p as 12V to 48V entire range so what value should be R43 and R44? It is upto client what does he connect @ I/p Port i have no idea he just said to me he will connect any I/p with entire ranging for 12V to 48V but O/p needs to be fixed @50.5V. So kindly reply what values should be @ R43 and R44 should it be 75K and 29.4K respectively as per datasheet? for any I/p voltage 12V to 48 V? Also is there any other value of components that needs to be change if I/p can go Upto 48V? Please reply quickly I'm out of time to provide client the solution... Thank you in advance!

    For the application the values for R43 and R44 can be 75kOhm and 29.4kOhm respectively. If it is necessary to change the UVLO please reference the LM5118 schematic.
