Hi,

My customer is looking for a flyback controller for a 100W AC-DC Open Frame Power Supply design.

Their requirement is as follow.  What will be a good solution for them ?

  1. Current mode control
  2. Minimum switching frequency ≥ 20KHz (frequency foldback)
  3. No Burst mode switching
  4. Input no load power < 250mW
  5. Ave Efficiency > 88%
  6. Integrated active X-Capacitor discharge (Optional)
  7. Integrated high-voltage start-up
  8. Brownin/brownout (Optional):
  1. Brownin level ≤ 75Vac
  2. Brownout level ≤ 40Vac
  • output voltage ≥ 25Vdc
  • Protection :

    1. OVP : Latch off
    2. OCP : Auto recover
    3. OTP : Auto recover (optional)

    I recommend looking at LM5023. It is a QR flyback that has the ability to meet all the requirements, including OVP latch off. The EVM LM5023-2NBEVM is close to these specifications, so we recommend ordering a board to evaluate performance.
