UCD9090: How to configure UCD9090 throgh TI i2c adaptor.

I  am able to configre the UCD9090 about power on sequencing  on  the eval BOARD   aws per my  own board (under design) . I am able to configure  UCD9090 uhrough USB cable  throgh PC. In my actual board   does not support USB interface. Only support I2C interfae. I have Ti supported USB adapter  2006. It supports I2C interface.On my board I have placed 10 pin  header foer SCL and SDA and Alert and PMBUS_control.

 Unfortunately the evalboar UCD90SEQ48EVM -560 supports  14 pin header  where as UDB adaptors  2006 supports 10 header ( and that is why I  am not able to use USB adaptor. Do you have any eval board  of UCD9090, that supports  10 pin header only

After configutration  through eval board. I have to save the file   in which  format ??  so that  that file will be used for download config file  though I2C adaptor ? Is there any procedure  for creation  of config file   ( for downloafg image through I2C bus.

Please let me know.

    Based on what your described, you are all set to have the i2c interface to work with your own board via the USB-TO-GPIO Adapter. 

    In the UCD90SEQ48EVM,it has the identical circuit as the USB-TO-GPIO adapter, that's why you only need a USB cable without the real adapter.

    having said that, customers can still use the USB-To-GPIO adapter to work with the EVM, you have to wire the SCl/SCD/GND pin from the EVM to the 10 pin ribbon cable of the adapter. Since you do not use the USB direct connect with EVM, you have to use a bench power to provide 5V input.

  • Thanks for your answer. I  need couple of information.

    The EVAL board UCD90SEQ48EVM-560 we are using here . Is it possible for you send me schematics in pdf file of the eval pboar or show me me the pointer so I can find. ? In the  schematics  I want verfy  the loactaion of SCL/SDA and ground pins   and take the three wire from the board and connect to those corresponding 10 pin ribon cable adaptor.  I have feeling  the 14 pin  connector "J5" on the eval board support SCL/SDA and ground. and as will as JTAG finctionality.  If it is true   , I can make a testing Jig  which convert 14 pin 10 pin signal conversion.

    Please let me know.

    Please refer the schematics of EVM at www.ti.com/.../slvu464. Actually, all the IO has a slik name on the top of the EVM. you can easily idenfity SCL/SDA/GND.
    THe 14pin header(J6) is reserced for JTAG and can not be used for I2C/PMBus.
