TPS61025: vs TPS61201

Part Number: TPS61025
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61201,

Hi,

I am using the TPS61025EVM to power my design but saw a post by one of your engineers about possibly switching to another Boost Regulator because of tantalum cap.

I saw this one and would like to know what the pros and cons of this one is: TPS61201

Here is the post:
https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/t/234226?TPS61025-use-on-TPS61020-EVM-

Here are my requirements:

It needs 3.3Vout using two AA batteries. Using a power supply, I am able to get it working at anything above 2.5Vin but anything below that (eg. 1.5V) does not power on properly.

It looks like connecting the batteries in Parallel will work but Series won't.

The microcontroller is the Wroom02/Esp8266 which has an initial spike up to around 300mA (maybe even 1A lol). It's usually in deep sleep though, with the TPS61025 Quiescent Current is around 90uA.
