TPS1HA08-Q1: TPS1HA08-Q1 Maximum Operating Voltage Question.

Dear TI Team,

The TPS1HA08-Q1 data sheet is under review for design purposes.

Our design specifications are as follows.

1. Input Voltage : 24V

2. Current : 8A

3. Application : Inrush Current Control Purpose.

4. Question : 7.3 In the Recommended Operating Conditions section,

                     I would like to confirm that (1) the device will function within the extended operating range, however some parametric values ​​might not apply.

                     What are the symptoms if I exceed 18V?

                     Can we have trouble using 24V power?

                     Use EN to connect the input voltage to the divider and use only the power on / off.

Please answer.

    Hello,
    

    The Ron section shows that the Ron is valid for 6-28V so therefore the Ron will be between 8mOhm to 20mOhm depending on the temperature. For 8A this gives 0.512W and 1.28W
    

    This with the Rja of 32.8 gives between 17C and 42C. Therefore if the ambient temperature is lower than 108C the device will work properly.
