BQ25713: Using ILIM_HIZ to terminate charging

Part Number: BQ25713
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34110

Hello.

I am working on a design based on BQ25713 and BQ34110.

Even though most of the controlling tasks will be performed by a microcontroller, I thought of connecting one fo BQ34110's /ALERT pins to ILIM_HIZ network as a redundant way of forcing BQ25713 to stop charging the battery (NiMH), should an overvoltage/overtemperature or combination of both to occur. Ideally the microcontroller will do it but I wanted a fail-safe fallback.

When that occurs, I would like the load still to be supplied. I understand I should configure BQ25713 for pass-through mode for that to occur.

Does the above make sense?
