1)If I don't want to use an external input current regulation loop (IE don't use Ilim-HiZ pin)

     What should I set there?

2)Section 7 (Device pin configuration & functions ) on P5 has when it is above 0.8 device exits Hi-Z mode.

Section 9.6.6.1 on P57 of DS states pull it above 4.0V.

While from schematics on EBV UG (SLUUBT8B) I see it's at REGN*220K/(383K+220K) =~2.2V.

What is the correct voltage?

  • Hey eli,

    1) If you don't want to use the ILIM_HIZ feature, you can pull ILIM_HIZ to the VDDA rail. You may also disable the feature through the register setting Register 0x31[7]

    2) There are several reasons for these different thresholds. Below 0.8V, the charge controller's converter operation is disabled. Above 4V, the input current limit feature of the ILIM_HIZ pin is disabled and the charger therefore defaults to the register IINDPM setting. On the EVM, the voltage is programmed to set a default input current limit of 3A.
