TPS2595: Do we have the Isc value?

Part Number: TPS2595

Hi team,

My customer is evaluating our TPS2595. I noticed that we have a parameter named Isc when the output is short circuit. The description of this parameter in out datasheet is as below.

Customer wants to know below points:

1. whether the parameter Isc has a specific value and how it is adjusted based on the Ilimit?

2. When the output short circuit happens, will the transient peak current be regulated under Isc? What is the difference between Isc and Ilimit?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Wayne

  • Hi Wayne,

Isc is a fast short circuit limit threshold. if the load current goes above this threshold, it is considered as a Short Circuit condition.
    - Once Short Circuit is detected, the device quickly limits the current to ILIMIT. Isc is greater than ILIMIT.
    - Isc is adjusted based on the selected current limit. Its value is not mentioned in the datasheet.
