Hi Bill Johns,

Thanks for your support. I want to clarify one doubt. As per datasheet calculation Rilim = R1 (330) + Rfod (1.5K) = 1.8K should set maximum charge current around 170mA. But when I have measured the battery charge current using Digital Multimeter in Ammeter mode the maximum charge current was coming around 130mA. Rterm = 5.6K will set termination current >40mA, but termination happens when ammeter current reaches zero. Also termination is not happening sometimes and charging continues with current between 0 to 1mA. I think this is causing the battery protector IC to shutdown mode due to battery overcharging.

Take a look at the voltage on TERM and ILIM pin during charge.

I have split the Charge Termination Question out as a separate post and changed the title to reflect this.

Best thing to check is the voltage on TERM and ILIM pin.
The ILIM pin is a current that is proportional to output current.
The TERM pin is a fixed current that will set the point where termination occurs.
ILIM and TERM will work together for termination. Try comparing the voltage between the two pins.
